Sparc is excited, to be planning the 18th Annual Sugar &
Spice Chilli Dinner at Sacred Heart Griffin’s West
Campus, which is scheduled to take place Saturday
February 23, 2008. Funds raised at the dinner will benefit
the 200 athletes who are the Sparc Travelers, Sparc's Special
Olympic Team allowing them to participate in the Special
Olympics by providing entry fees, transportation and
equipment.
This well-established Springfield tradition highlights national
renowned chili chef and judge Les Eastep, and his cadre of
helper cooks as they prepare the celebrated red chili. Sugar
& Spice also features a bake sale, silent auctions, a cash
bonanza raffle as well as entertainment for the whole family!
Last year over 600 bowls of chili were served!
Sparc is in need of items for the silent auction portion of the
event. In return, your name/business will be listed as a donor
in all publications promoting the event and you will be
recognized as a supporter of Sparc on our website as well as
in Sparc Matters the quarterly newsletter distributed to
thousands of homes.
If you would like to make a donation to Sugar & Spice please
contact Kaylee at 793-2206 ext.178 to arrange for pick-up or
mailing of your donation.
Volunteers Needed! Can you donate an hour or two of your
time to volunteer at the event? Volunteers are needed in the
following areas: Set-up & takedown, Ticket sales, Raffle
Ticket sales, Ticket takers, volunteer check in table, Chilli
servers, Hotdog servers, refreshments, Bus tables/wash trays,
carry out table, silent auction coordinator and kitchen help.
