Being a member of the Springfield ARC brings benefits to
individuals with developmental disabilities supported by Sparc
and to you.
Seventeen of the $25 annual membership stays with Sparc.
The $17 may not seem much to you but this money helps
individuals with developmental disabilities in many ways, such
as helping individuals in Sparc’s 24-hour residential program to
purchase toiletries, a tie for a job interview, a field trip for at
least two children in respite camp, a pass for public
transportation to get to work, or a ticket to a stage
performance. The rest of the money is forwarded to the Arc of
Illinois and the Arc of the United States for advocacy and
awareness efforts.
As a member of Sparc, you would receive the following

- Participate in electing members of the Sparc board and
be a part of the Sparc voter block that elects state and

levels
- Access to information by members only on the national
Arc web site.
- Access to preferred services through Arc affinity
programs
- Eligible for auto, home, life, and health insurance
programs at reduced rates through Arc of the United
States
- Individual Education Program (IEP) consulting
- The Arc InSight, a national newspaper with up-todate
relating to developmental disabilities
